Avaliação de impactos
1. Redução no desempenho de indivíduos da biota nativa
Resposta: Sim
Mecanismos selecionados: (6) Envenenamento / toxicidade
Evidências por mecanismo
It is discovered that no tested species on Madagascar have the capacity to survive ingestion of the novel toxin. The vulnerability is found in all examined species, including snakes, frogs, lizards, lemurs and tenrecs. The results suggest that the invasive Duttaphrynus melanostictus is liable to have significant impact on Malagasy fauna.

2. Declínio no tamanho populacional de espécie nativa
Resposta: Sim

We collected qualitative data on the impact of the toads on Timor-Leste’s terrestrial biodiversity. Reportedly the Green Pit Viper Trimesurus insularis (a common poisonous snake on Timor), the Timor Monitor Varanus timorensis (a small monitor lizard), other snakes, and quail/buttonquail species (small birds that nest on the ground) have declined since arrival of the toad.
