\"Along with an increase in the abundance of I. glandulifera in vegetation, changes in species richness and diversity were observed.\" (Kieltyk & Delimat 2019). \"Our results showed that I. glandulifera caused shifts in both the above- and belowground plant species composition. Plant species richness was reduced by 30% aboveground in invaded plots, but not belowground in the same plots. Many geophytes and woody species were found belowground but not aboveground in invaded plots. Root biomass was reduced by 35–55% in invaded plots, most probably due to allelopathic compounds released by the invasive plant into the soil\" (Gaggini et al. 2019). \"Impatiens significantly reduced both the mean abundance of species within plots (2·68 vs. 3·94 cells species−1, paired t = 2·41, d.f. 47, P < 0·05) and their frequency between plots (2·02 vs. 2·92 plots species−1, paired t = 3·38, d.f. 47, P < 0·005)\" (Hulme & Bremner 2006).

Impacto estrutural no ecossistema

\"Greater cover of F. japonica and I. glandulifera cover reduced total invertebrate abundance and morphospecies diversity at the individual sample scale\" (Seeney et al. 2019) \"In the foliage-dwelling community, all functional feeding groups were less abundant in the invaded plots, and the species richness of Coleoptera and Heteroptera was significantly reduced. In the ground-dwelling community, herbivores, detritivores, and predators were all significantly less abundant in the invaded plots. The reductions were more pronounced for the foliage dwelling invertebrates compared to the ground-dwelling invertebrates and this is potentially due to the availability of food in the canopy of the invaded plots compared to resources at ground level\" (Tanner et al. 2013)
