Evidências por mecanismo
The clonal growth and the plastic morphological response to light of this highly invasive plant are efficient mechanisms for its rapid colonization of space and successful establishment in the vicinities of the coastal zones in Mediterranean environments.
In all invaded soils, a significant increase of carbon and nitrogen content and a significant decrease of pH were registered.
Carpobrotus significantly increased bacterial and fungal biomass and altered soil microbial structure, particularly favoring fungal growth.
